This post is to introduce the newest category on my blog: “France”. There's already a Travel category, so you might be wondering why I need a special category for France. Well, the posts here won't be about travel, exactly—because this summer, Laura and I will be moving to Paris!

Laura needs to do research in England next year, and I've always wanted to live in France, so when an opportunity for me to transfer to Paris for a year or two showed up just as we were starting to try to figure out how to make my job and Laura's research fit together, going for it seemed like an obivous choice. Everybody wins!

And my good fortune is your good fortune, gentle readers; I have no doubt that living in another country will provide a lot of material for the blog, so posting (and pictures) should be a lot more frequent later this year—and perhaps even earlier if I need to vent about the process of preparing to move overseas.

Also, you'll know someone with an apartment in Paris, which could obviously have certain advantages...
